After a decade of working across Africa’s fast-evolving fintech industry, Esther Linda Nigiwan has launched Africa Fintech Insider, a LinkedIn newsletter aimed at helping industry professionals better understand the trends, opportunities and challenges shaping digital financial services on the continent.
Nigiwan, who has built her career across several major fintech and financial services companies, said the newsletter was created to address a growing need for practical insights from people with direct operational experience in the sector.
Unlike traditional fintech news platforms that focus primarily on reporting developments, Africa Fintech Insider seeks to provide deeper analysis by examining what industry changes mean for businesses, regulators, investors and professionals making decisions in the digital finance space.
Each edition will draw from Nigiwan’s experience working in areas including mobile money, payments, digital lending and blockchain-enabled financial services, offering perspectives on market trends, regulatory shifts and business strategy.
The launch comes at a critical moment for Africa’s fintech ecosystem, which is undergoing significant transformation following years of rapid expansion.

“After ten years in fintech, I felt there was a need for more practitioners to contribute to the conversation about where the industry is going and what the changes mean for those operating within it,” she said.

Through her previous roles at companies including Numida, Prudential Uganda, Wave Mobile Money, SeerBit and Pyypl, Nigiwan has developed extensive experience across Africa’s financial technology ecosystem.
